Life is too short to have boring hair for the holidays !
When the days get darker and the nights get colder, there is always that special excitement in the air as Christmas approaches. It is always exhilarating to try something different for the holiday season and what better way to do this by experimenting with a new hairstyle to sport on Christmas day to impress your family and friends.
There is a wide range of different hairstyles to choose from and luckily for us, hair tutorials can be found on your favourite blogs, YouTube and Pinterest. All of these are good ways to spark your creative juices. Perhaps you can choose something daring: - a style you have not worn before or maybe one you have not worn for a while. It can be a braid out, a twist out, mini twists, clip-ins, extensions or a blowout. The options are infinite for black hair! Not to mention the extensive range of products available that can help you achieve your desired look.
You can always glam up your hairstyle with hair accessories to make your hair pop even more or maybe add some colour using hair chalk or glitter. Trying a new hairstyle for Christmas is always a good way to test it out for New Year’s Eve, so you can refine your technique and enter the New Year with amazing hair.
Make sure you plan how you are going to do your hairstyle in advance. Depending on the look, you may or may not want to start with freshly washed hair. In addition, when styling your hair always remember to think about its health. If you are straightening your hair maybe air dry first, instead of blow-drying and then straightening it, that way you can minimise the amount of direct heat. If you are using heavy styling products, gels or serums, wash your hair afterwards with a good clarifying shampoo to avoid product build-up.
Lastly remember to have fun! It is your hair, so use it to express your identity however you choose.
